Solution Architect Services
The project is implementing an agile working environment allowing the business to become more efficient, more flexible in the best way possible.
The project now has a requirement for a Solutions Architect to lead on the identification of solutions to realise the Telephony Strategy.
Purpose of the Job
Ensure that the busines is advised of the optimal solutions to business requirements, arising from change to business functions, processes and structures within change programmes and projects across the whole organisation.
Analyse the high level business requirements defined by programmes, and detailed business requirements defined by projects
Define solutions that meet business process, information, application services and technology needs.
Identify existing solution building blocks that can be reused, and liaise with Enterprise Architects to identify and implement new building blocks to fill gaps.
Produce appropriate reports, diagrams and presentations to inform customers, and for review by Enterprise Architecture Governance bodies.
Provide initial consulting service to programmes and projects, guiding them through the process, and enabling scoping and costing of further Solution Architecture work.
Design and develop Solution Architectures to meet business requirements, and provide value-for-money, within the context of the Enterprise Architecture framework.
Define and document technical work packages (deliverables) needed to support proposed solution
Provide technical assurance of supplier proposals including alignment with the technology architecture
Influence senior managers within Programmes and Projects, to adopt fit-for-purpose and value-for-money solutions and ensure technical alignment with other programmes and projects as applicable.
Assist Programme and Project compliance with Enterprise Architecture by guiding them through governance processes and principles laid down by the Chief Enterprise Architect.
Produce appropriate documentation on programme and project solution architecture for review by the Chief Enterprise Architect and Architecture Review Board.
BA degree in business, information systems, computer science, systems analysis or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and experience of designing effective solutions to meet business requirements, within the context of changing business processes, functions and organisational structures.
Expertise in Enterprise and Solution Architecture processes, methods and frameworks, including TOGAF (v9+ desirable), ISEB or Avancier Method.
Knowledge and hands-on experience of using EA modelling tools, ideally the Troux Transformation Platform
Knowledge of business process re-engineering methods, principles and processes
Knowledge of information management methods, principles and policies
Knowledge of MDM, BI and data warehouse methods and techniques
Expertise in BPM, workflow and integration methods and tools.
Knowledge of SOA principles, and expertise in system and data integration middleware.
Experience in the selection, implementation and management of packaged applications
Knowledge of security, network and data centre architecture
Experience of portfolio, programme and project management methods
Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting

Recommend Lync version to deploy to ensure Unified Communications (conferencing, instant messaging, voice calls etc as well as considering any impacts on existing desktop environment as stakeholder groups ways of working.
Advise on any information security consideration in line with statutory obligations and any PSN requirements.

Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas. Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products. Within a business change programme, assists in the preparation of technical plans and cooperates with business assurance and project staff to ensure that appropriate technical resources are made available. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
