Our client is a national market leader in the fields of defence and nuclear engineering and enjoys the backing of a large international group. As a design and manufacturing specialist, the client has the capability to take an idea, develop the design, build and manufacture the product.
The role of the Stress Engineer, Structural Stress Engineer will be to determine the most appropriate methods for substantiating equipment, which is subject to a range of loads (including seismic or shock) as well as perform and check hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis. The Stress Engineer, Senior Stress Engineer, Stress Analysis Engineer, Structural Stress Engineer will also provide specialist analysis support to the design teams and will work with the designers on design development.
The successful Stress Engineer, Structural Stress Engineer will have of working in medium/heavy engineering. The Stress Engineer, Senior Stress Engineer, Stress Analysis Engineer, Structural Stress Engineer must have an ability to work with calculation software (MathCAD or similar). CAD (Unigraphics, Solid Edge) systems experience would be advantageous. Substantial experience of stress analysis in high integrity industries (Nuclear, Aerospace, Defence) is required, as is proficiency in classical hand calculation techniques and/or Finite Element Analysis.
