Aerospace Technical Illustrator

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Technical Illustrator to work on a long term contract in a busy technical publications department.

As a part of the illustrating team, you would be responsible to create or amend Aircraft illustrations based on Author mark-ups, Engineering drawings and other documentation, in accordance with the technical specifications provided by the customer and be able to progress and track work using customer specific systems. You will also be responsible to answer customer queries and work closely with the Customer's technical publications department.

You will be expected to work with a minimum of supervision and ensure that the deliverables are available within the designated time frame and to the necessary quality level. As an illustrator you will be expected to have a good understanding of the industry and the necessary standards.

Create/amend illustrations based on requests by the authors.
Verifies the accuracy of his/her own work.
Progress and track work flow.
Works closely with the authors to provide accurate illustrations.
Ensures his/her deliverable is available to the client at the designated time according to the project schedule and that all deliverables are to the required quality.

Required Skills/Background
Previous working experience as a technical illustrator.
Competency in the use of industry standard tools (i.e., Isodraw/TI-Autotrol).
Experience in the following applications is an advantage: SAP / ProductView or similar 3D-CAD system and MS Office Suite.
Previous experience in production of Aircraft documentation and a knowledge of the aviation standards is an advantage.
Organised, logical and lateral thinker who can multitask.
